Doing The Lord's Errand In Sierra Leone
A missionary blog of Elder & Sister Neves and their experiences in Sierra Leone Freetown West Africa and adjacent cities and towns in 2010 and 2011.
For behold, the Lord doth grant unto all nations, of their own nation and tongue, to teach his word, yea, in wisdom, all that he seeth fit that they should have; therefore we see that the Lord doth counsel in wisdom, according to that which is just and true.

This is downtown Freetown, the capital of Sierra Leone.
19 June 2009
We've been here now for a few days, enough to have the feel for the Freetown world and what its about. Sister Neves and I drove to two different branches on separate sides of the mountain and did it without getting lost or in major difficulty all by our lonesome.
I'll get some photos posted now and hope to do some regular updating from this point. We have power here usually in the evening from about six thirty until morning. We could get by without power after we go to bed but the Mission President's home is on the second floor and pretty hot at night so that governs running the generator at night. We'll go out and shut it off as we leave in the mornings.
So we've been here now since the 4th of June or was it the third, a whole 16 days and have gone from being completely dependent on someone else to drive us around and take care of us to having plenty to occupy us from morning until night.
I'll pull from my journal periodically and see if I can keep a kind of stream of consciousness comment going from one day to the next. I'll tell you about a astounding performance we witnessed last night and get some pictures posted right now.

This shows some light traffic on the little road we often travel
